Val & Peter
The Hamilton Park Press is owned and operated by Master Printer Val and her husband/apprentice, Peter.
Val fell in love with typography and letterpress printing while she was in college in Tacoma, Washington. After college, she moved across the country for a career in textbook publishing, acquired a Chandler & Price pilot press and hot metal type to continue printing as a hobby, and volunteered at Bowne Printing at the South Street Seaport in New York in order to hone her craft. After moving to Jersey City with Peter in 2003, Val gained enough space to acquire a hundred-year-old Chandler & Price 8x12 Old-Style platen press and started up the Hamilton Park Press.

Although most of what we print is for ourselves, family, or friends, we do some paid work as well. Stationery and invitations should reflect an individual's personal style and taste, so if you are interested in having something custom printed, please get in touch with us via the form on the Contact page.

THE WESTCHESTER CHAPPEL
A pride of lions. A murder of crows. A chappel of printers...
The Westchester Chappel is a group of printers that's been meeting to share our work, printing stories and cautionary tales, and camaraderie, a few times a year since 1960. Hamilton Park Press joined the Chappel in 2015. No longer confined to just Westchester County, members reside in upstate New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Georgia.
Among other periodic group projects, the Chappel produces an annual calendar, with each press contributing a page. For more information about the Chappel, and to see over 60 years' worth of calendars, please click this button to be taken to the Chappel's site.
